I think I may have ME/CFS

Something isn't right, and you're trying to understand what. That takes courage.

Guidance

  • Post-exertional malaise (PEM): a worsening of symptoms after physical, mental, or emotional effort — often delayed by 12–72 hours. This is the defining feature of ME/CFS.
  • Unrefreshing sleep: waking up feeling as tired as when you went to bed, regardless of hours slept.
  • Cognitive difficulties: trouble concentrating, word-finding problems, feeling mentally foggy — often called "brain fog."
  • Orthostatic intolerance: feeling faint, dizzy, or nauseous when standing, or needing to sit or lie down frequently.
  • Keep a symptom diary for 2–4 weeks before your appointment. Note activity levels, sleep quality, and when symptoms flare.
