I'm newly diagnosed
You've just received a difficult diagnosis. There's no rush — take what you need, when you need it.
Guidance
- It's normal to feel overwhelmed, scared, or even relieved to finally have a name for what you're experiencing. All of these reactions are valid.
- ME/CFS is a chronic, multi-system illness — not a psychological condition, not burnout, and not something you caused. The science is clear on this.
- Your symptoms may fluctuate from day to day. Good days don't mean you're getting better, and bad days don't mean you're getting worse. This variability is a hallmark of the illness.
- Recovery rates vary. Some people improve significantly, others stabilise. Honest information helps more than false hope.
